IBI’s Isopropanol (isopropyl alcohol) is biotechnology grade for use in precipitating nucleic acids. The nucleic acid precipitate which is formed in the presence of moderate concentrations of monovalent cations, is recovered by centrifugation and redissolved in an appropriate buffer at the desired concentrations. Isopropanol is also known as isopropyl alcohol, IPA, and iso-propanol.
